The course is mainly meant for foreign students. This Summer Course will
be focused on materials used for machining such as high speed steel and

sintered carbides and surface finishing of steel used for fabricating various tools.

Materials will be seen not just from their practical application but also from

the point of view of analytical chemistry. Students will get a chance to work

with cutting edge equipment provided by Brno University of Technology, one of the
best universities in the Czech Republic.

The participating students will get highly appraised insight into new materials

through interactive lab assignments, lectures and tours. This course is set up by

the international student organization BEST which has been running under Your University as well.

The academic part of this course will be held under the auspices of the

Dean for the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, prof. RNDr. Miroslav Doupovec, CSc.,

and the Dean for the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, prof. Ing. Havlica, DrSc.
The course will take place from June 14 to June 25 in Brno, Czech Republic.
